At Red Tag Fly Fishers, we believe everyone should feel welcome, respected and able to enjoy the benefits of fly fishing in a safe and supportive environment.
We're committed to creating an inclusive club where people of all sexualities, gender identities and backgrounds can participate with confidence and be themselves.
Our commitment goes beyond words. We actively work with organisations that promote diversity and inclusion, including Proud 2 Play, JOY FM, and the Rainbow Ready Clubs program. We also proudly host our annual Catch a Rainbow IDAHOBIT event, introducing members of Melbourne's LGBTQIA+ community to fly fishing in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
These partnerships help us build awareness, educate our members and continually strengthen our club culture so that everyone feels they belong.
Whether you're an experienced fly fisher or picking up a fly rod for the very first time, you'll be welcomed, supported and encouraged every step of the way.

Annual Event
Catch a Rainbow – our IDAHOBIT event Each year we host our Catch a Rainbow Come and Try day, introducing members of Melbourne's LGBTQIA+ community to fly fishing in a relaxed, welcoming environment for IDAHOBIT – the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia.
All gear is supplied, our friendly members are on hand to teach the basics of casting and fly tying, and there's a light lunch to keep the energy up. |
