Red Tag Fly Fishers club is an active member of the following associated groups, including involvement on some committees. Red Tag members take an active part in volunteering for projects including environment improvement and protection. Below is a summary of the associated groups:
Council of Victorian Fly Fishing Clubs
The CVFFC (Council of Victorian Fly Fishing Clubs) main objective is to provide an effective voice from fly fishermen to VRFish and government agencies on the maintenance and development of the trout fishery in Victoria. The CVFFC have two delegates to VRFish. Individual fly fishing clubs views can be passed on to VR Fish using the support from CVFFC and its members. |
Australian Trout Foundation
The ATF’s mission is to protect, build and promote Australia’s trout fishery, and to protect, repair and regenerate inland waterways and riparian zones for the benefit of better stream water quality, thus providing better environmental outcomes for trout and native fish species. |
Native Fish Australia
NFA takes an active interest in all matters effecting native fish, working with government and government agencies to help achieve the best possible outcomes. NFA also performs a valuable independent watch dog function helping to ensure that our aquatic heritage is not damaged due to bureaucratic mismanagement or political interference. NFA represents the interests of native fish and responsible native fish anglers on a number of bodies at both Federal and State level. In particular NFA seeks to provide an intelligent, environmentally balanced viewpoint in those forums. |
VRFish
The Victorian Recreational Fishing Peak Body (VRFish) was established after implementing recommendations outlined by a Ministerial Committee ‘Recreational Fishing Peak Body Working Group’ in 1995. It was established that there was a need for a single independent body to unite and represent the interests of all of Victoria’s recreational fishers. This includes sport fishing, recreational fishing, underwater fishing, subsistence fishing and bait gathering. The primary functions of the Peak Body are:
